And with ever more complexity, there's a danger many people will miss out on the real benefits. That can mean a growing gap between our appreciation of what the technology can do for us, and our understanding of how it works.

At Lxpert, our mission is to bridge the gap between technology development and user experience. Our purpose is to help people get the most out of technology so that their lives can be enriched. Our founder is committed to helping people get maximum value from technology. That's why he created Lxpert. It's about making sure lack of technical knowledge doesn't stop people having a great user experience.

At Lxpert we're here to bring together those who have IT expertise and those who need it. It's about helping ordinary people use technology effectively to enrich their lives. We achieve this by providing people easy access to affordable, reliable and local IT experts. Lxpert is a social-for-profit enterprise. It is built on three inter-dependent components:

1. Marketplace – Powered by a state-of-the-art eCommerce platform, our marketplace connects community members with those who need IT or technical expertise. For our lxperts, it's an opportunity to use their skills to benefit other people and earn additional income. For customers it's an easy way to get expert help at an affordable cost.
   Customers can choose a lxpert, then book a one-to-one session with them at a mutually convenient location. Community members have full control of their schedules at all times, working flexibly on a freelance basis. They can also use our range of smart business tools to view upcoming appointments, manage workflow and contacts, raise and issue invoices, receive payments etc.
2. Community – A community of technology experts who have the relevant qualifications, skills and experience that they can use to help other people. Through this community, our lxperts can network, get support, share information, experience and best practice, grow their skills, get career advice and mentoring, as well as finding job opportunities. They can do this through regional seminars, conferences, networking events and our online forum.
3. Volunteering – Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is at the heart of the Lxpert business ethos. Our volunteer programmes enable our members (lxperts) to give something back to society. It's a chance for them to connect with the local community, help people get more from technology and develop their skills. We welcome new collaboration opportunities with charities and social enterprises.

Building a worldwide community, enhancing the profile of our experts and helping those in need...

We have three important long-term goals:

1. We want to build an unrivalled worldwide community of technology experts.
2. We want to raise the profile of our lxperts, showing the wider world the important work they do in enabling people to make the most of technology and use it to enhance their lives.
3. We want to give something back to the world and help people who are less fortunate than we are. Our volunteers from the Lxpert community would visit areas of social deprivation to help inspire young people to learn about science, technology, engineering and mathematics, empowering them to gain vocational expertise, build well-paid careers and help regenerate their communities.

Lxpert is pronounced as ˈlɛkspəːt. It stands for Local Expert.
