Use our intuitive search tool to find a local IT expert. Simply type in a brief description of your problem, then choose when and where you would like the consultation to take place eg your home, office or a convenient local meeting venue such as a cafe or hotel.

Lxpert will match your requirements to a selection of local experts from our database of appraised and carefully chosen IT specialists. You'll be able to see details of each expert's skills, qualifications and specialisations, the price per hour he or she charges, plus customer ratings, reviews and more.

To narrow your search you can filter it using a range of criteria. For example, you can choose just to see PC or MAC specialists.

Once you've chosen your preferred expert, you can reserve an appointment on their online calendar, which will show real-time availability.

The next step is to secure your appointment by committing to pay for the first hour of the consultation. All transactions are processed securely through Paypal and you won't be charged until the appointment is in progress.

Should you change your mind or your plans change, you can amend or cancel the appointment online. A small administration fee may apply. See terms and conditions and the cancellation policy from your expert.

On arriving at the agreed meeting location, the expert will assess your problem and, in most cases, specify a solution right away. He or she will not implement the solution without your consent.

If the work is expected to take more time than the initial hour you have already paid for, additional charges will apply based on the expert's hourly rate. He or she will discuss this with you and confirm that you are happy to proceed on this basis.

In some cases it may not be possible for the expert to provide a solution immediately. For example, he or she may need to source components or obtain specialist advice. If this happens, you will only be charged for the initial hour's consultation and the expert will give you an estimate of additional time required at his or her hourly rate.

Once the consultation is complete, the expert will issue an invoice to you via Lxpert. If there are any agreed extra charges, you can pay the outstanding amount online via Paypal.
